While I was growing up, my parents quickly learned that the best way to harness all of my kinetic energy was to immerse me in a world of sports and activities. My relationship with exercise and the outdoors is one that is rooted deep within my personality. I am fortunate enough to have received a Masters Degree in Leisure and Sports Management from the University of Tennessee allowing me the opportunity in a professional setting to share the joys of an active healthy lifestyle with others. After a very successful career in Campus Recreation, I decided to focus on my growing family. This amazing change allowed me to focus on my passion for group fitness. I currently hold two national certifications: one with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and the other, with the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA). Being able to share in the lives of class participants is what makes this job so rewarding for me as an instructor. As an adult, being able to harness my kinetic energy into a form of work that is so positive and rewarding is a true blessing. It is my sincere hope that you are able to leave my class with a renewed spirit that can help you face the day with confidence.
I currently live in Southwest Portland with my husband and our two children. On the weekends you can find us playing together as a family around town, or perhaps, in the woods on our bikes. As our children get older, we hope to share our love of skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, surfing, and backing to the list of family activities.
